The Brody Family Retreat, designed by SANDBOX, was built by Vineyard Homes in 2014. This 4,500 square foot dramatic “mountain-modern” style home features a terrific 5-bedroom, 4.5-bath open floor plan, with Office and Media Room, a 3-car garage, soaring ceilings and large glass window-door walls that spill out onto a broad terrace area, capturing natural light and views of Lookout Mountain and Northstar. The terrace features a social fireside area, sunken spa and covered dining zone. Inside the home, the spaces are cozy, yet dramatic, with the warm wood tones expected in a mountain home, coupled with expressed steel and more contemporary detailing. The home is ideal for entertaining and family gatherings, with its great open plan to encourage interaction and socializing. A large glass door wall to the left opens up to the rear terrace beyond, accessing a covered dining area complete with built-in heat lamps.
The palette of materials and colors throughout the home is visually clean, warm and calming, as is evident in the Master Bedroom (photo by Vance Fox above). The Master has its own fireplace for cold winter nights and direct access to it’s own terrace and the sunken spa around the corner.
The Media Room (photo above by Vance Fox) can be left open to the Great Room and the view on two sides, or closed off by big barn sliders to isolate noise.
