Situated on the edge of Martis Camp, backing to the infinite privacy of over a thousand acres of Forest Service land, this SANDBOX-designed home is all about capturing the forest views, with virtually every room looking out to the wilderness. Completed by Heslin Construction in Summer of 2013, abundant windows and doors open up to the expansive terrace area and the forest beyond, as can be seen in the above photo by Vance Fox showing the Rear Elevation. The exterior is clad in a striking mix of reclaimed barnwood siding, espresso-colored trim and indigenous stone.
At 3,300 square feet in size, the home strikes a good balance between efficiently accommodating the needs of the family and having ample space to entertain. SANDBOX did a nice job of articulating the massing for a more interesting, less bulky exterior appearance. Photo above by Vance Fox showing the Front Elevation at twilight.
An open, flowing floor plan makes the most of the square footage, cutting down on wasted circulation space and making every room feel larger as it opens to the next. The Kitchen, Dining and Living Room spaces are all interconnected. Despite the rustic exterior, the interior feels much more refined, as can be witnessed in the Master Bath above (photo by Vance Fox), where painted white cabinets and marble blend perfectly with the warm wood tones of the Hickory flooring and Alder casework.
