SANDBOX designed this 1,200 square foot mountain guest house to be part of a future, larger estate, when a main house eventually gets built down the road. With three bedrooms, two baths and an open kitchen-dining-living area, the cottage packs in quite a bit of function in its small footprint! Photo by Vance Fox of Entry Elevation with Carport and Garage (above).
Overscaled windows, vaulted ceilings and a nice outdoor terrace area will make the home feel larger. With perks such as a firepit and sunken spa, the guest house will serve the owners quite well while they wait to build their main house, and will continue to keep their guests in comfort thereafter. Photo by Vance Fox showing the Rear Elevation with terrace area (above).
The interior has a touch of contemporary feel to it, with the sleek Walnut cabinetry, bold lighting selections, steel accents and fun furnishings. Photo by Vance Fox of the vaulted Living Area (above) with doors/windows to the terrace, firepit and spa.
The Kitchen (above) packs quite a bit of function in for a modest guest house, including a table for casual dining and the kids’ homework. Photo by Vance Fox.
